The Dark Knight is a British-American film by director Christopher Nolan, based on the Batman character. The film is a sequel to Batman Begins from 2005. The title of the movie means Dark Knight, a nickname of Batman. Batman takes in this film along with District Attorney Harvey Dent against the Joker, played by Heath Ledger. Ledger died a few months before the premiere of the film to a drug overdose.
