A Nightmare on Elm Street is directed an American horror film from 1984 by Wes Craven. It is the first of what became a film set where the character Freddy Krueger is central, each played by Robert Englund. The film was produced with a budget of 1.8 million dollars. The official responses to A Nightmare on Elm Street were mixed, but the title made with Halloween and Friday the 13th to the general public or for a surge in the popularity of horror films in the 80s.
